Industrial

Industrial buildings for production, research, energy, logistics and technical operations.

The industrial portfolio counts smelters and photovoltaic factories, mechanical workshops, laboratories and terminal buildings, in Norway and abroad. The commissions come both as new plants and as expansions of operations already running.

The process shapes the building

The industrial building is organised around what happens inside it, not around a form chosen in advance. The production requirements, the equipment, the internal logistics and the technical services are mapped first, and from this the plan follows, with production halls, storage, workshops and offices placed by the flow rather than by the façade.

A robust and expandable structure

Heavy loads, overhead cranes and technical services set demands on the load-bearing system, and it is dimensioned for them during preliminary design. At the same time spans and heights are given margin, so the facility can take further development in operation and new equipment layouts without the building having to be redesigned.

People and process

Personnel zones are separated from process and storage areas, but still have to connect in daily use. Work flow, daylight, indoor climate and break rooms are designed together with the production areas, and are given the same attention as those, whether the building houses research, energy, logistics or heavy production.
