Lerøy Belsvik

New recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) hatchery for Lerøy Midt AS in Belsvika in Heim municipality. On completion, the facility was the world’s largest RAS facility, with a floor area of approx. 10,500 m². The facility is divided into five independent compartments adapted to the size of the fish at the various stages: hatching, start feeding, growth compartment, presmolt compartment and smolt compartment. In addition, an administration section has been established on the mezzanine floor. Belsvika has been a hatchery since 1986 and is currently the largest of five hatcheries in Lerøy Midt AS. The practice prepared the detailed zoning plan for the 58 daa area, designed the building and outdoor works and followed up the construction.
